    We check your profile and your right-to-work basis and write to you from an @gene-works.fi address.

  2. A short call in English

    Your trade, certificates, availability and rotation preference. No documents are collected at this stage.

  3. A written offer when a site needs your trade

    Agreement, pay group, hourly rate, hours, housing and travel terms — in writing, before you travel. We explain any difference between the offer and your calculation before you decide. Documents are asked for only when there is an assignment: we write to you and explain how to provide each one.

Your trade tells us which collective agreement pay table to read. Choosing it is not yet a promise of a place — the written offer confirms that.

Years of experience do not set your pay group: the description of the work you carry out independently does. We ask so that the call is about the right kind of work.

The country you would travel from affects travel arrangements and social-security paperwork. It is not a criterion for pay or for a pay group.

Your basis for working in Finland

We ask so that we can check the right to work for the assignment. Living in another EU country does not by itself establish the right to work in Finland. Do not send identity documents with this form.

The language we should call you in. Site instructions and safety briefings are in English; Finnish is not required for installer roles on the sites we staff.

An approximate month is enough. It helps us match you to a site phase; the actual start date is agreed in the written offer.

Do not attach or email a passport, residence permit or bank details with this application. We do not ask for files, date of birth, personal identity code, address, photo or bank details here. If a specific role is being considered, we explain which documents are needed and how to provide them.

By submitting, you ask Gene-Works Oy to assess your profile for the recruitment process described here. We process the necessary data as explained in the privacy notice.

The two boxes are optional and independent of each other; the profile is sent without them.

We never charge workers recruitment or placement fees, deposits or related service charges (Act 380/2023, section 144). We do not retain original passports. Which assignment costs exist and who pays them is explained before you accept an offer.

What happens after you press Send?

Your answers are written to our application register and you see an application ID on the screen. Keep that ID: it identifies your application in any later message, and it works even if no email reaches you.

A confirmation email is then sent from jobs@gene-works.fi through our mail provider. Delivery is not instant and can land in a spam folder. If no email arrives, your application is still with us — write to info@gene-works.fi and quote the application ID.

A person then reads the application — within one Finnish working day as a rule — and replies from an address on the gene-works.fi domain. The next step is a short call in English. A written offer follows only when there is a suitable assignment; it is the offer, not this form and not the calculator, that states pay and terms.

Free for workers — always. Finnish law (Act 380/2023) and Google's Supplier Code of Conduct prohibit charging workers any recruitment fee. We never ask for money, deposits or your passport before a signed contract.

What we ask — and what we do not

We ask only what is needed to match you to a construction site in Finland: trade, experience, country of residence, your basis for working in Finland, and how to reach you. Finnish law on privacy in working life (Act 759/2004, section 3) allows an employer to collect only directly necessary information — consent does not make extra fields lawful, so we do not have them.

We do not ask for your date of birth, gender, personal identity code, home address, nationality, photo, bank details, health information or any files. Your right to work is a legal question the employer must verify; it is not a question about nationality (Non-discrimination Act 1325/2014, section 8).

Your profile is kept for the recruitment process. The second box is a separate choice: your profile stays in our talent pool for 12 months so we can contact you about suitable roles. The third box, also separate, is the short monthly update — you can have the pool without it. You can withdraw or ask for deletion at any time by writing to info@gene-works.fi with your application ID. Details: Privacy notice and Data and confidentiality.

Before you send

I have no right to work in Finland yet. Should I still send my profile?

Yes. What matters is the right to work in Finland for the proposed duties — a permit or status from another EU country does not by itself give it. EU/EEA citizens: the time from application to site depends on the vacancy and on how ready your documents are. Others: a residence permit or another basis that allows this work in Finland is needed and is assessed case by case; for a residence permit for an employed person the 2026 figures are a minimum of 1 600 € gross a month (the collective agreement usually requires more) and a 750 € fee for the first electronic application. Sending your profile does not start a permit application. Your profile stays in our talent pool only if you tick that separate box.

Do I need Finnish?

No. The working language on the sites we staff is English; the requirement of the work is English at B1 level for site instructions and safety briefings.

When will I hear from you?

Within one Finnish working day as a rule, from an @gene-works.fi address. A confirmation with your application ID is sent as soon as we accept the application and usually arrives within a few minutes; if it does not, check your spam folder and write to info@gene-works.fi with your application ID.

How do I know a message is really from Gene-Works?
